Did The Cable Guy Just Foreshadow The Future 25 years Ago?

It has been almost 25 years since Jim Carrey's 'The Cable Guy' came to theatres. But It seems that The Cable Guy just foretold the future we are living in today. Yes, I watched the movie 25 years after its initial release in 1996(though I was born three years later). There is a scene where Chip Douglas (Jim Carrey) sits with his customer(or presumably friend) on a huge satellite dish. He says this quote which in my mind means the world of social media and technology we are living in today. The Future is now. Soon Every American Home will integrate their television, phone and computer. You'll be able to visit the Louvre on one channel, or watch female wrestling on the other. You can do your shopping at home, or play Mortal Kombat with a friend from Vietnam. There is no end to the possibilities. Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy, 1996 No end to the possibilities indeed.
